We got so much done this weekend! Somehow, I’m still feeling like we’re behind. I think next year, I’ll start the seedlings earlier, and give them bigger containers when up-potting, so that they have more room to grow larger before I put them outside. I’m worried about those tiny little tomato and pepper seedlings in the big wide world out there.
But in any case, they’re planted in the raised beds, along with some little onion seedlings. We added those to the raised beds with some existing onions, basil seedlings, and marigold and snapdragons. The planters in front of the two beds have lettuce, kale, more basil, and spinach.

We’re now calling the back bed that we added the “shed bed” because it’s right next to the shed we just built. That has a blackberry bush, raspberry bush, and blueberry bush, along with some sunflower seedlings, and some wild strawberries and wild ramps that I foraged and replanted. We’ll see if those guys make it. But that bed is now mulched and fenced so that the pup can’t get in there and trample anything.

There’s also a garden bed in the front yard, to the left of my driveway. We’ve started calling that one the “pumpkin patch.” It does have 4 pumpkin plants, but also some zucchini, yellow squash, cucumbers, and what I think is one watermelon seedling (I’m honestly not sure. Forgot to label it, so I guess we’ll find out). Plus, some more marigolds and snapdragons, and a lovely hibiscus that my mom gave me as a gift 🙂 We got that bed mulched this weekend too, and I’m going to continue lining it with some small stones to try to keep the mulch where it belongs.

Otherwise, we’re just monitoring the peas and lettuce in some containers in the first picture below. The potatoes and some more spinach in the bed in the second picture below (as well as a little planter of sage that I attached to the front of that bed), and some more seedlings that we’re hoping will emerge from planter city in the third picture below. I can’t wait to keep documenting these as they grow, and see what a June garden update might bring!
